Find what you love!

Continuing on with my personal push up challenge-I am up to 27! Woohoo! My plan has been to increase by 2 or 3 each week; I started  a couple weeks ago with 20, upped it to 25 the second week and then now I'm at 27 raised push ups. I really do think I will reach that 50 mark earlier than the end of January; I have been feeling quite strong. I was made for dong things in small energetic spurts-like pumping out push ups or bench press or pull ups or even sprints; I was not built for anything that requires energy for long periods-such as long distance running.

I am not giving up on running-I'm still doing it three days a week for my cardio...but I know what I LIKE  to do and what my body was made for, and distance running is not it! Give me my weights baby! LOL

That's the key folks, find what you love. If you don't like weights-then don't do them; but don't just got straight back to the couch with your bag of chips. Find something you like because exercise, in any shape is just so good for you; for your mind, spirit and body. There are so many forms of exercise out there-there is one that is right for you, and once you find something you enjoy, you will never look back! I've been doing strength and resistance training for over 20 years now because I love it, and I can't imagine NOT lifting weights-and I know that I reap the benefits daily.  Strong bones & muscles, high metabolism, alert mind...all benefits of consistent and regular work outs-and of course eating right helps too! You can gain these benefits from swimming, running, regular walking (as long as it's fairly up tempo), aerobic type classes and videos, yoga, dancing, tennis, the list goes on.

There is something for everyone-and the benefits are immense!

Stay fit!

Have a good week!

Amen SISTA! I want to do push ups so bad! I think they make you feel like you are strong everywhere to hold that good form.

I'm not even at 10 yet so I look forward to chasing you on this one!

Go girl! You'll get it...just do an extra one or 2 each time. But don't do them every day. I'm doing mine once a week; I screwed up my shoulder and chest one year trying to do them 3 times a week as well as my once a week chest workout-way over did it. So now, it's just once a week-adding on a couple each time. And get an audience-I've got John to watch me and that helps heaps!

Hear! Hear!

I have so many friend who would rather get their teeth pulled than lift weights but they love playing competitive sport or swimming laps. Keeping active is the key.
