Calling All Foodies! Your help is requested!

Hello blog land peeps! Hope you are up and running and ready for a great weekend! The sun is out for the 3rd day in a row up here- a new record...LOL!

So, today I'm calling out for input as my birthday is next week and I'm treating myself to some new cookware. I'm going to get some ceramic titanium (probably Scan Pan) pans and some new kitchen knives-and I want to know what brands YOU recommend. I suppose this is mostly for foodies in Australia as that's where I'm buying from. I'm looking for mid-priced, but good, long lasting quality. Also-do you know of any good online shops I can get either of these from?

I'm eagerly awaiting your recommendations! Thanks guys!
Ciao for now!

We're madly in love with our Scanpan roasting pan. Roasts are 100 times better....

Try Peter's of Kensington for good prices. http://www.petersofkensington.com.au/Home/

Or maybe this one (haven't checked it out yet, but it was recommended to me this week): http://www.yourhomedepot.com.au/categories/cooking/

I started writing something on knives then thought it'd be a good blog post. I'll write it today :)

I agree with Kek. Yourhomedepot and pertersofkensington are both great.

As for pans, I've mostly given up on non-stick pans but I used to swear by Analon. I have two 2L Analon saucepans which we still use everyday. Other than that my most used fryingpan/skillet is a De Buyer 20cm Blue Steel Frying pan ($28.85). It's what restaurants use because they're indestructible. If you burn food to the bottom of them you just re-season it and spray it with cooking spray. A quick spray after washing it and it's as good as non-stick. I make my omelet in it every morning. I also own a Le Chasseur griddle pan and Dutch oven which I love to bits.

I'm off to write about knives

Oh I want a post on what you get as I need new pans too. I got mine 4 hrs ago and they already suck. I heard titanium is good but expensive. I have cutco knives and they held up well and are guaranteed for life. They even replaced one that the tip broke.

Happy shopping!

Im going to give a thumbs down to the Scan Pan non-stick stuff. Twice, I have had two of the same frying pans and done everything right. No metal, no scourers, no really high heat and the surface bubbled on both.I did read that a bad batch had this happen though. I dont mind the Scan Pan stainless steel range.

I got most of my cookware pots and pans from Pampered Chef for the lifetime guarantee. I bought the most expensive ones and - again, lifetime guarantee, you can't go wrong with that. ;-)
