Back in Action!

Well, after a super yucky weekend of being in bed ill, I am pleased to report that today I'm about 90% better. Starting feeling ill Thursday and it just got worse. Bit of a bummer as I didn't even train on Saturday. On the bright side, I lost a kilo....LOL. Not the best way to lose weight...but hey, I'll take the loss! Now I need to keep the weight where it's at....not let it go up again. To do that, I've been extra careful with my portion sizes and making sure everything that passes these lips is completely beneficial to my health and muscles.

I did not do pics or measures this weekend. I know my meassures are down..but figured next weekend would be more accurate as long as I keep the scale down. And I just didn't feel in the mood to pose at all; so next weekend for sure.

In other news; unfortunately there is a bloody category 5 cyclone looming out at sea right now and so far predictions are that it will be hitting the coast by the weekend. Of course, their predictions this year have so far have been off...let's hope they are off on this one is too and it actually fizzles out before hitting land. It was 4 years ago this week that Cat 5 Larry direct hit us. And it was 16 March 1999 when John & I lived in Exmouth and got a direct hit from Cat 5 Vance. How many Cat 5's does one couple have to endure? We've only lived in Aus for 13 years! So, I'm guessing this one won't hit...right? :-)

I'm sure many have already seen the above pic as it was just from this year's Arnold which was just over a week ago. I, as many in the bodybuilding and figure world, was very disappointed with this years winner of the figure division. I mean...I am sorry-but to have placed Monica Brandt 6th?! (That's who is in the pic above, in case you don't know...) She looked better than ever-lean, muscular, feminine. The gal that won, well, no disrespect..but it's just not what I think of when I think of "figure competitor". "Sports Model" is what comes to mind; I just thought she was a bit too smooth, especially her legs, to win a pro figure competition. Granted...that's just my opinion (well and a few others that I know of). Her picture is below...you be the judge.

Ciao for now!

hey girl, glad to hear you are feeling better! look after that bod of yours :)

i totally agree... NWL is awesome, but yep, came in much softer than the other gals... i guess that's just the nature of the beast though right? and it might be because they are encouraging the more muscular look for the physique category, who knows?!?!?!

Wow, they are both so stunning, but Monica has always been a favourite.

As the Goldie is just down the road from Brissie, I'll be coming along to cheer you on Raechelle!

I couldn't agree more! Again MY opinion, but the judging lately its more figure/bikini than figure?

I was fortunate to run into Monica at dinner Saturday night and get a picture with her...she chatted for a bit and was SUPER humble and helpful! I am not sure which direction this is going, BUT I do know is all any of us can do is our INDIVIDUAL best and that makes us ALL winners!

Have a great week girl!

I am delurking to comment on this blog post. I couldn't agree with you more on the ruling of the figure comp. Nicole is a doll of course, but a pro figure winner? Not with this line-up. I was very disappointed.

It does seem like the Figure competitions are encouraging much more of a Sports Model or Bikini model physique than figure, I agree. Bummer. I was at The Arnold and Monica looked AMAZING. Same thing for my girl Jenny Lynn at the Olympia- BS!!!
