I have been really enjoying reading about people staying on the healthy track during the holidays. I'm not talking about counting calories and completely avoiding every not-so-healthy morsel! (I know I've said this before, but personally, I never count calories except for comp prep-and I enjoyed a few sweets over the holidays too!)
What I'm talking about is people just eating within reason-not pigging out and drinking to the point of ache and illness. Simply enjoying some tasty food and the company of friends and family-and getting out for some activity! After all, being balanced means just that-balance; the middle way. Not over-indulgence or deprivation!
It's also been great to read about people who have made decisions to change destructive lifestyle habits-and are doing it NOW. They are not waiting for the magic day of January 1. As LIA posted this week "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?" What indeed?! If the decision has been made-then act now. The sooner you start to take charge of your health and break the 'bad' habits, the sooner you feel the empowerment and be able to reap the benefits! The benefits being both physical and mental. The more often you say no to the destructive things in your life-the easier it will become! I can literally vouch for this. It will get easier. What have you got to loose except maybe a bad habit?!
Have a safe, healthy, happy New Year!

Glad that your happy for a bit of support. I will let you know as it gets a bit closer. I am keeping an eye on Jetstar for some cheap airfares to Townsville. Cool bananas!!!!!!
Amen to all of the above. It felt great to not stress out going IN to holiday meals (a bit of a bummer that I suffered two bad tummy aches from dairy but - lessons learned right?) and no guilt AFTER! Just moderation and enjoying myself.
